Home Insurance Coverage Types Explained
Standard homeowners insurance (HO-3) covers: dwelling (your home's structure), other structures (garage, fence), personal property (furniture, electronics), loss of use (hotel costs while home is repaired), liability (if someone is injured on your property), and medical payments to others.
It does NOT cover: floods (requires separate NFIP or private flood policy), earthquakes (requires separate policy), normal wear and tear, or intentional damage.
